Computer Work From Home
When looking for a way to get money out of your computer, it is easy to go to your favorite search engine and type in work at home or computer work at home but the trouble is that many of the opportunities that pop up in the results are for network marketing positions. If you really want to search for job you can do at home on your computer, you have to be more specific with your search terms.
For example, if you are interested in typing jobs at home, the kind where the people send you hand written manuscripts and you type them into your computers word processor, think about what exactly you will be doing. Entering the simple term typing will get you closer to what you are looking for than entering typing at home. You can also enter things like homework help or manuscript typing that will offer more dedicated results than the phrase typing at home.
Transcription services are always in demand but they do require some level of training, depending on the type of services you want to offer. Medical transcription services, for instance, require a high level of knowledge of the language used by doctors or dentists in order to accurately enter the correct words or terminology. A misunderstood word in a doctors report can lead to disastrous results.
Article marketing is also very popular in the internet business with companies posting informational articles about their products and services on their own website as well as through distribution services. There is a constant need for individuals who can turn out these articles on a regular basis and those that can produce quality, informative and original material are in high demand.
If you can do a little bit of research on the home computer and produce articles that provide a value to internet users, it can be a source of steady income. While this type of freelance writing may not produce the fame, glory and especially the riches that many folks associate with being a writer, if you can type quick enough and understand the purpose of the articles, you can make some decent money working at your home computer on your own schedule.
Most article writers are going to focus on two facets of the craft, including articles that are rich in key words and content articles about the business for which they write. Many of the key word articles will use a certain phrase in such a manner that they flow naturally through the article and not end up simply being a long list of the key words. Keyword article writing, while not tantamount to rocket science, does require a dedication to churn out numerous article under usually short deadlines.
Companies are advised to provide a consistent flow of fresh information for their sites in order to maintain the interests of the search engines. While writing these types of article, you can also peruse other types of freelance writing such as press releases that these same companies submit to online press release distribution services to help get their name into the public view.

Mediaware plans to tap outdoor media business
Pradipta Mukherjee / Kolkata
Mumbai-based Mediaware Infotech, the software solutions company for the advertising and media industry, is planning to tap the out-of-home media companies in Kolkata for its recently developed enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Although Mediaware currently services a few advertising agencies in Kolkata like Rediffusion DY&R, RK Swamy and Madison, along with a few local agencies, it is now targeting the media companies of Kolkata.
According to Biswajit Das, CEO of the company, "So far, Kolkata was a low focus area for us because of the earlier business climate. With the resurgence of Bengal, we are planning to increase our client base in Kolkata. We have also prepared a range of software offerings for broadcasters, publications, ad agencies, online media as well as corporate advertisers, in addition to out-of-home media companies. We plan to first pitch to the outdoor media companies in Kolkata and grow our business here."
According to Mudit Raniwala, Head-OOH Group, Mediaware's OMW software covers the complex process of site acquisition right up to client billing, which includes budgeting and monitoring, site erection and maintenance expenses, tendering for municipal or government sites, preparing outdoor plans and estimates, executing outdoor schedules and logging related expenses, culminating sales invoices along with debit notes, credit notes and an exhaustive set of management reports.
Raniwala said, “The entire system is designed keeping in mind the new formats and technology break-throughs that the out-of-home media companies are vying for.”
The out-of-home (OOH) media is also taking the shape of broadcasting, which is clear from the increasing number of TV screens mounted at strategic locations. In fact, the resemblance to television is very close in case of content-led companies like Wall Street Journal who have launched OOH digital arms.
In some cases, the content delivery route also follows the satellite TV route with content being uplinked to a satellite transponder and downloaded via C-Band antenna, though many players prefer the cheaper IP route for delivery.
But in both cases, the process remains the same – from monitoring TV screen installations and footfalls to scheduling ads for each individual screen to monitoring and client billing, Raniwala pointed out.
“Mediaware’s OOH module addresses this aspect of the business and gives the OOH media companies a comprehensive solution to meet all their needs,” added Raniwala.
The outdoor medium for advertising is becoming increasingly competitive with the advent of highly professionally managed groups like Laqshya Media, Future Group, OOH Media and Reliance along with the enrty of large international players like Clear Channel, Stroer & JCDevaux.
According to market data, the OOH media is reportedly growing at 15 per cent year on year and is expected to touch Rs 1,150 crore in 2007.
